Deputies arrest man for sparking fire in Walmart

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Deputies with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office arrested a man they say started a fire in the Monkey Junction Walmart in February.

According to the sheriff's office, 37-year-old Jerry Lee Bridgers of Hampstead was charged with burning personal property.

Cell phone video from a Walmart customer shows a rack of clothes burning in the middle of the store.  The customer said employees rushed to the fire, and it seemed to be under control, so he kept shooting video.

Bridgers posted bond and is out of jail.
