Citadel cadet charged with possession of child pornography
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A Citadel cadet has been charged with possession of child pornography.
The SC Attorney General's Office says that the Citadel IT Department found child pornography in a file folder on a computer belonging to Joshua Heyward Hughes Rumph, a junior from Clemson.
He is charged with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The Charleston Police Department arrested the 21 year old on Monday. He is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
On Feb. 11, police met officials with The Citadel Department of Public Safety in reference to a child pornography investigation.
According to investigators, Citadel Information Technology crews discovered the material during a diagnostic evaluation of the computer.
