Victims identified in fatal Berkeley County car crash

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says two people have died after their car crashed and caught on fire early Saturday morning in Berkeley County.

The Berkeley County Coroner's Office says the driver David Grimsley, 24, from Charleston and the passenger 28-year-old Phillip Saunders of Huger were both pronounced dead on the scene.

According to troopers a 2002 Chevy Cavalier was traveling north on Spring Grove Road when the car ran off the right side of the road, struck a utility pole and a tree then caught on fire.

The accident is under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol.
