Drugs, alcohol found in car involved in fatal I-26 accident

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says troopers found alcohol, marijuana and cocaine inside the vehicle involved in a fatal accident on Interstate 26 near Jedburg on Monday.

Troopers responded to I-26 near mile marker 194 around 2:30 p.m. to find a 2000 Honda CRV off the left side of the road.

Authorities said the car struck a tree before coming to a rest. The deceased motorist was wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.

The accident is currently under investigation. Investigators said alcohol, marijuana and cocaine were found inside the CRV.
