Police investigate drive-by shooting in Walterboro

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are investigating after a man was shot during a drive-by shooting late Friday night on Witsell Street.

Walterboro police officers responded to the intersection of Sweat and Witsell Street around 10:40 p.m. The victim said that several people in a green car opened fire and he was shot. Police say the vehicle approached the victim and shot him in the lower back. His right elbow was also struck with when the bullet exited the victim.

The victim was taken to Colleton Regional Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this time.

Police are still lookiing for suspects in the case.
