Downtown shooting victim dies; Police seek 3 suspects

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The coroner's office says a 23-year-old man has died after being shot in downtown Charleston early Tuesday morning.

Authorities say William Jones of North Charleston died at MUSC Tuesday afternoon.

The 1 a.m. shooting happened at the corner of Athens Court and Romney Street. According to Charleston police, one victim was found on Romney Street and another was found on Athens Court in downtown Charleston.

Both were transported to MUSC. There is no word on the other victim's condition.

Police are looking for three male suspects who were dressed in all black. Anyone with information about this incident can call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111 or Charleston Police at 577-7434.
