Man injured in wreck with teen at Cane Bay H.S.

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A 42-year-old man was taken to MUSC on Tuesday after a collision with a teen in front of Cane Bay High School, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the wreck happened at the corner of Highway 176 and Marshall Acres Boulevard around 8:30 a.m.

According to Corporal Bob Beres, 17-year-old Hannah Harmon of Ladson was driving west on Highway 176 in a Dodge sedan when Bobby Joe Main tried to make a left out of Cane Bay High School in his Toyota SUV.

Main was hit on the driver's side.  He was charged with failure to yield to the right of way

Harmon was not hurt in the crash.

Parents of students at the school have previously expressed concerns that a traffic light should be installed at the intersection, due to the frequency of collisions.

One parent said Tuesday that they planned on raising the issue with faculty during a parent-teacher meeting at the school on Tuesday night.
