Residents report feeling 'shaking' across Charleston County

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - People from across Charleston County reported shaking Wednesday morning, but according to the U.S. Geological Survey, there has been no seismic activity.

Residents posted reports of shaking on Twitter and Facebook beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials at the College of Charleston earthquake center report that there was no earthquake detected.

A Johns Island caller reported hearing an explosion, but according to St. Johns firefighters, the cause of that report could be a large tree which had fallen over.
