BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a three-car accident in Berkeley County.

Troopers charged 57-year-old Therese Jenkins of Mt. Pleasant with DUI after an accident on Clements Ferry Road near Sanders Farms Lane happened around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say a tractor-trailer was driving south on Clements Ferry Road when Jenkins pulled out in front of the tractor-trailer from Sanders Farms Lane.

The tractor-trailer crashed into that car and overturned. A third car, attempting to avoid the scene, crashed into the curb.

Both the driver and passenger of the tractor-trailer were taken to East Cooper Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

No one else was hurt. Jenkins was arrested for a DUI.

A portion of Clements Ferry Rd. near the accident was blocked off, but has since reopened.
