Officers arrest man suspected in West Ashley shooting

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police have arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of shooting a man in West Ashley earlier this month.
Charleston police charged Reginald R. Wescott with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Around 9 p.m. on March 9, officers responded to an Anita Drive residence in reference to a shooting that just occurred.
Police say the homeowner found the victim in his backyard. The victim was then transported to MUSC.
Authorities are continuing the investigation. Wescott was locked up at the Charleston County Detention Center.
