NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A mother and daughter were arrested for drugs after police say they responded to the daughter's residence for a home invasion and found marijuana.

The North Charleston Police Department charged 26-year-old Stephanie Davidson and her 56-year-old mother, Lisa Davidson, with possession of marijuana.

Investigators say after responding to a home on Flora Avenue in reference to shots fired on Monday, officers found marijuana at Stephanie Davidson's home. Police say Davidson admitted to selling drugs at her home and was arrested.

Officers responded to Davidson's home around 9 p.m. Monday. Davidson told officers that her mother, 4-year-old daughter and a neighbor were at the home when two men with their faces covered entered the home armed with guns demanding money.

Davidson said she ran to her bedroom where she was followed by one of the suspects who was demanding money. According to Davidson, when she could not get the money, the suspect struck her in the head with the handgun.

A police report states that one of the suspect's saw Davidson's mother trying to hide her daughter's wallet in her pants. The mother said she was pushed down by the suspect who took the wallet.

Davidson said she then ran outside behind the suspects and saw a neighbor sitting in a car. According to Davidson, she got the neighbor to open the door, jumped inside the vehicle and had the neighbor drive to the Target Street area.

According to police, the mother ran to a neighbor's home leaving the 4-year-old behind. During the investigation, officers say they located marijuana, a crack pipe and scale inside of the home.

Police say Davidson admitted that she sold marijuana from her home. Davidson and her mother were then arrested and locked up at the Charleston County Detention Center.

The child was released to her grandfather.
