CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Search crews with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office have halted their search for missing 36-year-old woman Gayle McCaffrey.

Deputies wrapped up around 2:30 p.m. after searching the area of Highway 61 and Bees Ferry for several hours.

A mobile crime scene was set up in the Bi-Lo shopping center on Bees Ferry Road, near Highway 61.

Major Jim Brady said the search was not the result of a tip.  He said investigators are just trying to narrow possibilities.

The searches were performed on Sanders Road off of Bees Ferry Road, and off Highway 61 just across the Dorchester County line.  A helicopter was used along with all-terrain vehicles and foot searchers.

McCaffrey has not been seen since Mar. 17, when her husband told deputies they got into a fight.
