CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Serena Williams powered past Samantha Stosur 6-1, 6-1 Saturday to reach the Family Circle Cup finals.

Stosur is the reigning U.S. Open champion, defeating Serena Williams last September for her first major title. Stosur also ousted Williams' older sister, Venus, in the semifinals here on Friday.

Serena quickly made sure Stosur wouldn't join the list of 7 players who've beaten both sisters in the same event.

Serena Williams won the first eight points of the match and rarely let up. She broke Stosur's serve five times and wrapped up the match in 59 minutes. It was the second straight tournament Williams beat Stosur, ending the Australian's run in Key Biscayne last week.

Williams will face Lucie Safarova in the finals. She picked up an even easier win in her semifinal over Polona Hercog winning 6-0, 6-0 in just over an hour.

Williams and Safarova have played 4 times before with Serena coming out on top each time.
