Cops charge man with armed robbery at Five Guys

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a man early Monday morning about 6 hours after they say he held up the Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurant in West Ashley.

Charleston Police Department spokesman Charles Francis said 64-year-old Frank Middleton was arrested around 12:30 a.m. near Evergreen and Yew streets.

Police say Middleton held up the restaurant at 1662 Savannah Highway and made off with cash.

He is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Middleton is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
