Officials postpone violent crime summit in N. Charleston
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A summit organized by SC Senator Robert Ford and SC Representative Wendell Gilliard to address violent crime and illegal guns in the greater Charleston area has been postponed indefinitely.
Recent reports rank the area as one of the highest-rated violent crime communities in the country, and a summit was scheduled for this Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at North Charleston City Hall.
For unknown reasons, that summit has been postponed indefinitely. Officials say they will announce the new date for the summit as soon as it is planned.
