Report: Doctor arrested after groping female patient
ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC) - A doctor in Fairfax, S.C. was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly groped a female patient.
Robert Major Jones, 56, has been charged with second-degree assault and battery stemming from a Nov. 4, 2011 incident where a former patient said Jones groped her.
The victim says when she attempted to leave Jones' office after an examination, Jones, who is from Orangeburg, touched her "on the butt."
She said she then pushed him back, asked him what he was doing and tried to leave again. The report says Jones then grabbed her from behind and groped both her breasts.
Authorities say the doctor then told her to wait so he could "calm himself down because he got too excited."
Jones was booked at the Allendale County Detention Center.
