CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Deputies say three people were taken to the hospital on Thursday after wrecking a stolen vehicle in Hollywood following an attempted traffic stop.

Charleston County Sheriff's Office Major Jim Brady said deputies attempted to stop a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria on Bees Ferry Road near the Shadowmoss subdivision when the vehicle sped down Bees Ferry Road towards Savannah Highway.

Brady said the vehicle continued southbound on Savannah Highway and then turned left on Highway 162 until crossing Highway 174 onto Willtown Road.

Brady said as the vehicle came to the dirt portion of Willtown Road, the driver lost control of the vehicle and overcorrected, causing it to flip.

Two of the three occupants in the vehicle were ejected and the third was extricated from the car. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Brady said.

Brady also said the license tag on the vehicle was reported stolen through Charleston City Police Department and the vehicle reported stolen through Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

The incident remains under investigation, to include any pending criminal charges on the driver and occupants.
