Man caught on video stealing security camera from restroom

BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of stealing a security camera from a restroom area at a Hilton Head park.
Representatives from the Town of Hilton reported earlier this week that a security camera had been stolen from the restroom area of the Chaplin Community Park on May 13.
Investigators say a white male subject was seen removing the camera. According to authorities, the suspect then got into a silver Chevy Avalanche with Georgia plates and left the area.
The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information on the truck or the suspect to contact Investigator Sgt. J. Adams at (843) 255-3415 or the Beaufort County Dispatch Center at (843) 524-2777.
