BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Multiple people got an unwelcome surprise when they walked out of their Sunday church service in Moncks Corner to find their cars had been broken into.

According to incident reports, three cars were broken into Sunday, July 8, at Berkeley Baptist Church and another was broken into at Gateway Community Church. All four victims say they were participating in church services during the time of the break-ins.

Officials say all four cars were broken into sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office say items were stolen out of a grey 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, a white 2011 Toyota Tacoma, and a silver 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe while they were parked in the Berkeley Baptist Church parking lot. In each of these instances, a passenger side window was smashed out.

A grey 2000 GMC pick-up truck was broken into at Gateway Community Church, deputies say.

Deputies took pictures and collected evidence from all four instances, and an investigation is ongoing.
