NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Multiple cameras caught two men burglarizing a North Charleston restaurant early Wednesday morning, and they appear to be the same men who broke into a West Ashley restaurant the same morning.

North Charleston Police say the burglary happened at the KFC on 5890 Rivers Ave.  The surveillance footage shows one of the suspects attempting to tamper with a surveillance camera before breaking the restaurant's drive thru window around 3:57 a.m.

One of the suspects then jumps inside and tries to force open a safe using a crowbar at a cash register. Minutes later, the men leave the restaurant empty handed and come back some time later to try to open the safe.

At one point in the video, one of the suspects is seen leafing through an office desk and cabinet. Both suspects then leave without the safe at 4:24 a.m.

The clothing, crowbar and vehicle seen in the video appear to closely resemble those used at a burglary at the Parson Jack's restaurant, located off Glenn McConnell Parkway, which happened the same morning around 4:40 a.m. In that burglary, two men broke into the restaurant and managed to take off with a safe.

Parson Jack's owner Steve Morgan said he believes the same person that broke into the KFC is also responsible for breaking into his restaurant.

"As soon as they entered that Kentucky Fried Chicken, the description, the clothes. The one guy had a stocking mask...spot on for the same exact guy that was in my restaurant," Morgan said on Thursday.

If you have any information you are asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
