MCCLELLANVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for two suspects who robbed a Dollar General last night at gunpoint.

Officials say the Dollar General located at 10141 Hwy 17 North in McClellanville was robbed around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night. Employees say two black males approached them, each carrying a black semi-automatic weapon, as the employees were leaving the store for the night.

According to a report, the suspects made the employees go back into the store and demanded money from the safe. After being told the safe only opened as certain times, deputies say the suspects took three register tills and ran out the store.

A K-9 was used in an attempt to track down the two males, but the dog lost the scent on Hwy 17 North, say officials.

The suspects were both described as being between 20 to 25-years-old, 5'9" and around 175 lbs. One suspect was wearing black or dark colored clothing and a white bandanna over his face. The other was wearing a black and red shirt, black pants and a black cloth over his face.
