WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Customers and employees at West Ashley's GDC Home Interior store got a big surprise Wednesday morning when a gator showed up at the store's parking lot.
Animal Control responded to the scene around 10 a.m.
While officials say they are not sure how the gator got there, everyone at the store was glad to see him go.
Employees say the nearest body of water is at least a mile away from the store located at 1290 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, close to the Highway 7 and Highway 171 split.
