JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - A Johns Island man is behind bars after deputies say he called 911 Tuesday evening and made threats to shoot the President of the United States.

According to an incident report, 51-year-old Kevin Salvo used 911 twice around 11:32 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6 to make non-emergency calls. The calls appear to have been made minutes after President Barack Obama was re-elected.

Deputies say Salvo was recording saying, "(Expletive) all Democrats and stay away from me." He went on to say, "the south will rise again," and "I will shoot the president," referring to President Obama.

The man was arrested by Charleston County sheriffs and charged with illegal use of 911.

Salvo was taken to the Charleston County Detention Center.
