FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner's Office says that two organs that washed ashore Saturday on Folly Beach are not human remains.
The Folly Beach Public Safety Department responded to a complaint in the beach area off of 5th Street West at around 9:40 Saturday morning. The caller had suggested an organ had washed up onto the beach. Folly Beach officers collected the unidentified organ.
Several hours later, officers were again dispatched to the beach area of 6th Street West, after a family reported to have discovered an organ while digging in the sand for shells.
Officers collected the organ and gave them to the Charleston County Coroner's Office to identify the origins of the parts. The Coroner's Office says they are animals parts.
