Gas leak repaired; Broad St. reopened to traffic

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police Department officers have reopened three intersections that were briefly shut down Thursday morning after someone hit a gas lamp at East Bay and Broad streets.

Police say the leak was reported at 16 Broad Street around 7:44 a.m.  According to SCE&G, the leak came after a car hit a gas lamp there.

Broad Street at East Bay Street, Broad Street at State Street, and Broad Street at Atlantic Street were closed to traffic for almost two hours.
