NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Trident Technical College is back to normal Tuesday morning following a bomb threat.

The school's Public Safety Department says an employee of the college received the threat  yesterday afternoon. It was directed at the Main Campus.

Authorities found a suspicious item near one of the parking areas. That area of the campus on Rivers Avenue was evacuated.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit rendered the suspicious item safe.

Both the sheriff's office and TTC Department of Public Safety are investigating this incident.  The sheriff's office would not provide further details because the investigation is still active.

The college is closed right now for winter holiday, so there were very few students on campus.
