CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston-based Avocet Hospitality Group have announced their acquisition of the Vendue Inn, located near The Market in downtown Charleston.

"We are excited and thankful for the opportunity to provide our guests a truly great hotel experience in the heart of historic Charleston, " said Jonathan Weitz, president Avocet Hospitality Group.

"The Vendue Inn has a long history of providing excellent customer service and is a market leader in terms of displaying true southern hospitality. We look forward to continuing the great work of the previous owner, Vendue Inn Associates, LLC," Weitz continues.

The Vendue Inn is located on Vendue Range, adjacent to Waterfront Park. The boutique hotel is comprised of 66 unique guest rooms, The Library Restaurant, and The Rooftop Bar overlooking the Charleston harbor.

"Charleston has and will always be my home. I grew up about 3 blocks south of the Vendue Inn on North Adgers Wharf. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to welcome guests to the Vendue Inn and let them experience all the wonderful attributes of Charleston," added Weitz.

Avocet Hospitality Group (AHG) is based in Charleston, South Carolina. AHG owns and operates St. Barth Exclusives in French West Indies. They also own the Tides Hotel and BLU Restaurant and Bar on Folly Beach.
