GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - A lockdown at Sedgefiled Middle School and Goose Creek High School has been lifted following a search for a suspect, who eldued authorities twice, Wednesday afternoon.

It all started when officials with the Hanahan Police Department say they received a call from a resident who spotted a suspicious man in a backyard carrying something on Painted Bunting Way.

Authorities say when the man saw a woman starting to follow him, the man ducked behind a sign and got into a car.

A deputy with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office then stopped the car near St. James Estate. Investigators say the driver jumped out of the car and took off running.

A brief foot chase then started, but the suspect got away.

Goose Creek police then spotted the suspect on Red Bank Road where they chased the suspect who managed to elude authorities again.
