CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - An official speaking for the Peter McCoy campaign says McCoy nor his official campaign, McCoy for Congress, bought the URL address which redirects visitors to Peter McCoy's page.

Both McCoy and Chip Limehouse are vying for the open congressional seat left vacant by now-Senator Tim Scott, who was appointed by Governor Nikki Haley to replace Jim DeMint.

McCoy released the following statement:

"Websites are not as important as reducing the debt, stopping Obamacare, and putting people back to work. That is Peter McCoy's focus."

"Somebody told me about it about a week ago that it had been put somewhere else...I would like to have it back at some point, that would be nice," Limehouse said of the website redirect on Monday. "I'm not saying anything but good things about Republicans. We're all on the same team at the end of the day."

According to information provided by, the domain was purchased on Jan. 6, 2010 and last updated on Jan. 14, 2013. Officials with say that the only person that can redirect a domain to another website is the administrator of the URL address.
