DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Ridgeville volunteer firefighter died in a wreck Sunday afternoon while responding to a fire call, authorities say.

Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet said 58-year-old Michael Louis Broz died when his pickup ran off a curved section of Horseford Road, near the Horseford Road bridge, and hit a tree.

He was responding to a fire call at Beidler Forest, according to Nisbet.
