NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police and the Charleston County Bomb Squad have cleared the scene after investigating a suspicious package left inside a Dollar Tree on Rivers Avenue.

Spencer Pryor, North Charleston police spokesman, said no explosives were found inside the package.

Officers had evacuated several businesses in the North Pointe Plaza shopping center at 7400 Rivers Avenue around 12:30 p.m.

Photos provided by a viewer shows a bomb squad robot rolling out of the store.  A 100-yard area in the shopping center parking lot was cordoned off with caution tape.

Police began clearing the scene around 1:45 p.m. and employees and shoppers were allowed to return to the businesses.
