NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Boeing officials say the Charleston County Airport Authority Board has approved the sale of 320 acres of airport land to Boeing for $12.5 million.

A press release by Boeing states that while the company currently does not have specific plans for the property, the acquisition will provide strategic land for possible future use.

According to Boeing officials, the price was negotiated in a contract that both parties agreed to last December.

Charleston airport officials say the sale must still be approved by the FAA before it becomes final.
