NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - According to the North Charleston fire department, around 6:30 Thursday evening crews responded to Rivers avenue and found a fire at the gas main behind Smokey Bones and Firehouse Subs.

Both businesses were evacuated as a precaution. Crews contained the fire to the meter until the gas could be shut off. We're told there was minimal damage to the building.
