CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County School Board approved a 10 cent increase for school lunch and breakfast for the 2013 to 2014 school year.
According to a spokesman, the price increase is needed to remain compliant with federal requirements.
The change will increase breakfast from a $1.30 to $1.40, and lunch from $2.15 to $2.25.
School officials say the increase is necessary to meet requirements under the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act.
