CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Former Gov. Mark Sanford and Democratic opponent Elizabeth Colbert Busch have accepted invitations to appear together at a second event in their 1st District congressional race.

They will attend a Goose Creek NAACP forum on April 30. That's one day after the two debate at The Citadel in an event sponsored by the Patch news service and the South Carolina Radio Network.

The events are the only two joint appearances now scheduled before the May 7 special election to fill the House seat once held by U.S. Sen. Tim Scott.

Goose Creek NAACP President David Cakley says the event will also be attended by Green Party candidate Eugene Platt. He says the candidates will each speak and then answer questions from the audience.
