Police investigating women spotted at local hospitals

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston Police Department say they are investigating two women who were spotted at local hospitals engaging in suspicious activities.

Authorities say Shavonda Hinson and Kimberly Alston have been frequenting OBGYN facilities and providing false information about medical conditions.

According to investigators, based on the current information, no criminal laws have been violated.

A police report states during an investigation, it was determined that Hinson was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Florida for aggravated assault. She has been arrested and is awaiting extradition.

Police are continuing to investigate and ask anyone who may have encountered the women or may have information about their activities to contact Sgt. David Osborne at (843) 720-2395.
