Gunman sought after robbery at check-cashing business

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are looking for a suspect after an armed robbery at the Check Into Cash on Dorchester Road in North Charleston on Thursday.

According to police spokesman Spencer Pryor, the hold-up happened at the store at 5060 Dorchester Road just before 11 a.m., when the suspect walked in, brandished a handgun, and demanded money.

The suspect then had victims move to the back of the business before he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male standing between 5'7" and 5'8", with closely-cropped hair.  He was wearing all-black clothing, white shoes, and sunglasses, according to witnesses.
