SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Authorities arrested a 37-year-old woman in Summerville last week accused of posting fraudulent rental properties on Craiglist and collecting the money.
A release from the United States Department of Justice states US Marshals, Summerville police, and Dorchester County sheriff's deputies arrested 37-year-old Bethany Guyton Martinelli in the parking lot of the Walmart in Summerville last Friday.
Sheriff's office investigators said a number of tips prompted their investigation, which has resulted in a charge of felony fraud.
DOJ officials said Martinelli was also wanted by the Horry County Sheriff's Office for failure to appear on a stolen vehicle and charge and a sheriff's office in Texas for felony property theft. Her boyfriend, 41-year-old Brennan Scott Dennis, was also arrested at the parking lot for a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle tag.
Both Martinelli and Dennis are being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center.
