SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Summerville Town Council voted Wednesday night to pass the first reading of an ordinance regulating when and where you light fireworks.

Town officials say under the measure, audible fireworks could be set off between 10a.m. until 10p.m.

The measure will exclude holidays such as New Year's Eve and the Fourth of July.

Town officials say shooting fireworks onto public or someone else's property would not be allowed.

Another reading on the proposed ordinance is still needed.
