Cops: Suspect sliced victim's face from ear to lip
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police say they have arrested a man who sliced a 5-inch gash in his victim's face after claiming the victim owed him money.
Frank Washington, 29, was booked early Saturday morning and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a knife during the commission of a violent crime.
According to court documents, Washington invited the victim to his apartment on Hazelwood Drive on Friday, May 24 around 6:20 p.m. and asked the victim for money that he believed he was owed.
After the victim gave Washington $20, a fight broke out when Washington claimed he was owed more than that, police say.
The report states Washington used an unknown cutting object to slice the victim's face, cutting his left ear in half and going all the way to the corner of the victim's lips.
The victim was taken to MUSC with an 5-inch gash on his face.
Washington is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
