COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Colleton County Sheriff's Office says another suspect has been arrested wanted for dragging an 84-year-old man nearly 200 feet while stealing metal from his property last week.

The sheriff's office says 24-year-old John Todd Terry Jr. was located in Colleton County and taken into custody Monday afternoon.

Deputies also arrested 23-year-old David B. Mays on Sunday on charges of grand larceny and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

On Thursday around 1:30 p.m., the victim discovered two men stealing his property near Cottageville and followed the suspects to a recycling center in Round O.

An incident report states that the victim identified his property and the suspects at the center.

According to investigators, when the suspects tried to leave the area, the victim grabbed one of the men who was driving a silver Saturn station wagon.

The sheriff's office says the suspects dragged the victim nearly 200 feet through dirt and rocks.

The victim was transported to Colleton Regional Hospital where he is in serious condition suffering from multiple lacerations, abrasions and internal injuries.
