Parole denied for James Isl. man who shot wife 20+ times
JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The James Island man who shot his wife more than 20 times in the shower and left her to bleed to death was denied parole Wednesday.
James Michael Watson appeared before the South Carolina Parole Board, and was denied, according to agency spokesman Peter O'Boyle.
He was sentenced to prison in the fall of 1985 for killing his wife, 31-year-old Cindy Summer Watson. At the time, there were no "truth in sentencing" laws, which means Watson goes up for parole every year unless he is released or dies in prison.
Watson was an ROTC instructor at The Citadel at the time of the murder
