Mother of Stephen Colbert passes away

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The mother of famous comedian Stephen Colbert and Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the Democratic candidate for the 1st Congressional District seat, has passed away.
Lorna Elizabeth Tuck Colbert, of Charleston, died Wednesday at the age of 92, according to James A. McAlister Funeral Home.
Colbert had 10 children in all. Two of them died, along with her husband, during a tragic plane crash near Charlotte in 1974.
The obituary described Colbert as an adored wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to being the matriarch of a family of 82, she was an accomplished artist, a church leader, a businesswoman, a supporter of the arts and a woman whose profound faith was apparent in her daily life.
