Roads beginning to open following several closures due to weather

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Several roads throughout the Lowcountry are starting to open after closing Wednesday evening following storms that brought rain, and flooded streets.

Pictures and video showed flooded streets in downtown and areas of North Charleston.

Storms also downed trees in West Ashley and Wadmalaw Island.

The following streets are currently flooded according to police:

Spruill Avenue at the I-26 off ramp is closed.- N. Charleston

Joppa, Kingsworth and Little Avenue - N. Charleston

Sycamore and 5th Ave.

Ashley Avenue @ Bennett Street

Ashley Avenue north of Fishburn

Rutledge Avenue north of Kennedy

Moore and Theresa

Coming and Spring

Morris  and Coming

Columbus and East Bay

America Street between Cooper Street/Lee Street

Sam Rittenberg/Sumar
