MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - A Mt. Pleasant teen got quite a scare Wednesday evening when his sedan caught fire on the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge.
According to a Charleston Police Department report, the 18-year-old was heading north into Mt. Pleasant around 7:15 p.m. when his Toyota Camry began smoking. The teen immediately got out and called police, according to the report.
By the time officers arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames, according to police. One lane was closed on the bridge, causing significant delays for motorists.
No one was injured.
