Cops: Suspect drove home during police chase, then ran

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A suspect took Charleston County deputies on a chase late Friday night that led authorities right to the suspect's front door, officials say.

According to a Goose Creek police officer, the suspect was spotted by a Charleston County deputy disregarding a traffic light on Ashley Phosphate. When the deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, the suspect sped off.

Police say the suspect drove to his home on Amanda Circle in Goose Creek, left his car in the driveway, and ran off.

Officers used a K9 to track to the victim, but his scent was lost, police say.

The Goose Creek police officer told a Live 5 photographer Charleston County Sheriff's Office, North Charleston Police Department, Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, Goose Creek Police Department, and Highway Patrol were all involved, but it was Charleston County's chase.

Officers say warrants will be filed.

Authorities are still looking for the suspect.
