Vehicle shot at multiple times in N. Charleston, one injured

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - North Charleston police say one person was injured early Friday morning after a vehicle the victim was in was shot at multiple times.

According to an incident report, the shooting took place just after 2 a.m. near Stall Road and Midland Park.

Police say the vehicle the victim was traveling in was making a turn when an unknown car with an unknown number of occupants began firing shots at the vehicle.  A woman sitting behind the driver was shot in the leg.

The report states four .40 caliber shell casings were found in the middle of the road at the scene of the shooting.

The victim was able to call police from the Sunoco Gas Station on Rivers Avenue, according to officials.

No word on her condition.

Police say it does not appear this shooting is related to the shooting that took place at Blue Magic around the same time.

The shooting is under investigation.
