GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - The Goose Creek Police Department is investigating the death of a baby Monday afternoon at a home at the Braemoor subdivision.
On Monday at 3:07 p.m., police responded to a home on Amberside Drive for a report of an infant in full cardiac arrest. Emergency officials told responding officers that the child was dead.
According to a police report, the boy's mother told police she was sleeping with her son, when she woke up to find the child cold to the touch and unresponsive.
The boy's grandfather said his daughter and grandson had moved into his home last week. According to the grandfather, he left the home on Monday at 9:25 a.m. for work and saw his daughter feeding his grandson in the living room of his home.
Police officials say they are working with the State Law Enforcement Division and the Berkeley County Coroner's Office on the case.
