CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Although she did not qualify for match play at the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, Lucy Li still attracted a lot of attention during her first two days at the Country Club of Charleston.
The 10-year-old is one of the youngest amateurs ever to play for the championship.
"They don't have any fear," spectator James Williamson says. "When you get older, I guess you get afraid of things, but these girls have no fear - they'll go for anything and normally, it works out."
Another spectator, a collegiate golfer at Bowling Green University, says she could not imagine playing at such a high level at such a young age.
"I was playing roller hockey outside [at that age] -- definitely nothing like this," Amy Ruthenberg says. "But good for her, it should be a fun experience."
