CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Traffic lanes in front of the Charleston International Airport will undergo a temporary closure for two weeks as crews work on a new rental car pavilion.

Officials say four of the eight pick-up and drop-off lanes at the airport will be closed beginning Monday, August 12 at 5 a.m., and will remain shut down for two weeks. The closure is for the inside lanes closest to the terminal building.

Officials say all curbside activities, such as pick-up and drop-offs, and shuttle, taxi, and valet services will take place from the commercial curbside area.

The new rental car pavilion is part of the Terminal Redevelopment and Improvement Program (TRIP). The program involves a number of projects to update the nearly 30-year-old airport.
